WAXING AND WANING OF THE MOON

The waning of the moon, as well as its subsequent waxing, could be happening because of the manner in which this body rotates or, likewise, because of the ways in which the air forms and changes shapes. Or, again, it could be due to accretions or, in general, it could be happening for any reason and in any way in which similar phenomena that are directly accessible to us take place.

WARNING ABOUT METHODOLOGY

{As a general rule,} one should not disapprove of any explanatory account because one has become partial to one single explanatory account. When this happens, one fails to discern what is feasible and what is not feasible by human standards and, consequently, one is reduced to wishing for what is even impossible to comprehend.
